Member Services Conditions of Use
This page contains the conditions of use, which apply to your access to and use of the online rt Member Online Area. This includes any related transactions you make using this service.
Please carefully read through these conditions of use now. Your use of the service signifies your acceptance of these conditions of use, including the general website disclaimer (click here to access the disclaimer), which applies to all use of any rt websites and internet services.
Access to rt Member Online Area
Only the Principal Member (as defined in the rt Health Fund Rules) is entitled to use the rt Member Online Area. This person is responsible for the payment of contributions for a membership. The Principal Member has the right to view, change, add or delete items relating to all persons for whom they pay contributions. In the event that the Principal Member allows access to any other person, rt accepts no responsibility for transactions conducted in the Member Online Area. It is the responsibility of the Principal Member to protect the security of their membership number and password.
If membership is suspended, access to the Member Online Area will be denied until the Principal Member and rt health agree that the period of member suspension is ended.
Security
The self service pages of the Member Online Area are protected by 128 bit SSL encryption to help ensure the confidentiality and integrity of information passed between the rt Server and the Principal Member’s browser. In seeking to use the Member Online Area, each Principal Member agrees to assist in maintaining the security of their own information by protecting their membership number and password.
Each Principal Member further agrees to:
- Change their password upon initial access being granted to the Member Online Area
- Keep their password secure and protected
- Keep the password record in a separate place to their rt member card
- Not share their password with anyone
- Not allow any person to view their password when logging into the Member Online Area
- Change their password regularly.
Each Principal Member agrees to contact rt immediately they become aware of any inappropriate use of membership details or access to their password.
General
Information pertaining to membership made available to a Principal Member by the Member Online Area may not always be up-to-date. For example, remaining limits shown (where available) do not take into account any unprocessed claims. However, changes made by a Principal Member to their membership details will take immediate effect. For example, a Principal Member will be immediately bound by changes made to their bank account details.
All benefits are payable in accordance with the rt Health Fund Rules, copies of which are available upon request from rt. In the event any information provided by the Member Online Area is inconsistent with the Health Fund Rules, the Health Fund Rules will prevail.
rt retains the right to cancel use of the Member Online Area at any time without notice if we believe loss might be caused to a Principal Member or to rt.
Privacy
rt will collect, use and deal with personal and health information in accordance with the rt Privacy Policy. This policy may be accessed by clicking here: http://www.rthealthfund.com.au/privacy-policy. In addition to the uses outlined in the rt Privacy Policy, this website and the Member Online Area use ‘cookies’ to provide a better service.
A cookie is a packet of information that allows the server to identify and interact more effectively with other computers.
When the rt website or Member Online Area is used, we send a cookie that gives each computer a unique identification number. A different identification number is sent each time our site is used. Cookies do not identify individuals, although they do identify browser type and internet service provider.
Each computer may be configured to accept all cookies, reject them all or notify the user when a cookie is sent. If a website user rejects all cookies, they may not be able to use either the rt website or the Member Online Area.
